Art keeps us alive.

Everyone contributes. We all choose our colors, take our steps, and engage in communication with the world. These actions define our own lives, but they also cause us to define the way that others live. We all build different kinds of art, and we build it the way we build our families--with our hearts. It is simple, but it is important. It's just our truth. It's the things we irrevocably revere because they are what made us in the first place.

My photographs are about the small things. They are about details, and about finding the extraordinary in the ordinary. They are about food and cooking and writing, and other things that make my heart swell. They are about the ways that food, family, and friends intersect, and all the tables that have built my memories. They are about the company we keep. They are about the importance of teaching and learning, connecting and being present. They are about passion and process and all the little things that make us big.
